連休最後の日なのですが今回の連休は長い休みという感じがしませんでした。
家では家内が韓国ドラマにはまってテレビの前から動きませんので何話かは観てしまいました。
”宮”というたわいもないドラマなのですが観ているうちにヒロインの女優に感情移入してなんとかうまく言ってもらいたいものだと思ってしまうようになります。
途中でヒーローの姉が登場して結局誰が次の皇帝になるのかわかってしまいました-こっちも観ましたから-。多分二人はそれでも仲良く暮らすのだと思います。
修練医に韓国生まれの先生がいて韓国ドラマの講義を受けています。
なかなか奥が深いですね。

米国NIHの研究費の配分に関する記事です。
米国でも研究費は審査の上配分されるわけですが、近年、若い研究者に優先的な研究費の配分がされるようになり、この場合審査のランクの順には研究費が配分されない場合がありこれが様々な波紋を起こしているという記事です。
Managers at the National Institutes of Health are increasingly ignoring the advice of scientific review panels and giving hundreds of millions of dollars a year to scientists whose projects are deemed less scientifically worthy than those denied money.
This year, the agency received $10 billion in economic stimulus money on top of its usual $30 billion budget. The budget is expected to drop back to $30 billion for next year. With a limited pot of money, every exception grant means that another grant deemed by a panel of experts to be scientifically superior will not be issued. In 2007, younger applicants had a better chance of landing an individual grant from the health institutes than older ones.
